Title: Mystery Oil Engine Flush Post by Prairieboy43 on 07/25/15 at 13:09:06 Anyone try this on The Big Savage Single? 4 qts diesel : 1 qt Mystery Oil. Pour in Tranny, let sit for a couple days. Dump, fill with oil. Dump, fill with oil again. Just getting ideas for cleaning out this old savage I picked up. PB43 8-) |

I'm not used to seeing these need more than maybe a coupla low mileage oil changes to get them flushed out. How did it come to need such serious cleaning? I don't know what diesel fuel and MMO do to the clutch.. |

Flush out engine, tank, with MMO before I fire up. Sight glass reveals dirty oil. Run a couple flushes. Already cleaned carb, main jet, pilot jet. :P |

It seems to me that the older ones held up better. But read up on it and pay attention to the noises and vibrations in the area. Pop some pics up if it's not too hard. Sounds like you're off to a running start with it,, How did you find us? |

Never been much of a cruiser guy. However some of my buds have been asking me to join them. Last road bike I owned was a VFR800. Nice smooth power. Raced many Suzuki RM. Suzuki makes a good product, just keep your eyes open for loose bolts. Thank You! PB43 ;D |

LOL.... it broke loose so much stuff it clogged all my oil passages. |

I wil Just flush out with a couple quick oil changes with Rotella T. Then will be good to go. Put some miles on the big single. I think Suzuki has a good product with this 650. Big single, forty hp, simple to maintain, less than 400 lb. Drive 70 miles hr. A little update would be nice ( I.e. Modern suspension cartridge fork). I wil Just enjoy it, for what it is. Impressed the number of miles some have on there bikes. Cheers PB43 :D |

I love the fact that I can easily find parts (used and new) for my flagship year 86'. Not so easy for my other old bikes. Older than 2000 and the dealers don't want to see you. |
