Title: maintain your lane!
Post by stewmills on 06/29/15 at 20:17:02

similar to other recent posts here, i wanted to remind you all to be conscious of your limitations and don't take blind corners too fast. it wasn't a mototcycle, but a highschool acquaintance died sunday in portland oregon  after (reportedly) losing control and crossing the center line and hitting an oncoming vehicle. he was a very talented and well respected cyclist, but accidents happen even to the best of us.

be careful out there, and any of you in the portland area give a shout out for Austin Crenshaw, 1977-2015.  :-[

I did it once on my GS1100G, trying to catch up to 2 guys on a road trip. Went in way hot, scraped the peg, went across the line, a slug of cars coming the other way, everything in slow motion as one after another they went off into the grass to avoid me. I was pretty sure my days were at an end. Never again.

We lose about a cyclist a week on Dallas Ft. Worth freeways. Mostly crotch rockets going into the guard rails, single vehicle loss of control accidents. Almost always excessive speed according to newspaper reports.

We have mangled sport bikes stacked like cord wood in the city pound.

Not worth it...
