I THINK you are right that the train wreck can't be avoided, but, IF enough people wake up, Maybe things could be different. The direction has been downhill, but it was all just accidents and unintended consequences,,,

Everyone should, to whatever extent their means and abilities allow, prepare for short term disruptions in their normal lives, whether those disruptions are caused by social, political, financial, or natural events. Such preparation is simple prudence.

Trying to prepare for the kind of apocalyptic event that I think the creator of the bunker in the story is envisioning is a fools errand. This place is basically just a very well appointed tomb.

You're possibly correct. But if they can survive longer than the masses....
And many of those who are doing it are likely part of the reason FOR that ugly future. Whether they are or not, they will be targeted by the
Have Nots.

Unless they plan a future after the SHTF all they are doing is postponing the inevitable. The entire "shoot first" mind set of preppers just makes me wonder how anybody will survive. Any rebuilding that would be done would need to be peaceful not at the muzzle of a firearm. Yeah, it's a lot of BUNKer preying on people's fears.

People will be needed to kow-tow to them (ie.. fix food, clean, wash their clothes ect...) who's going to feed/house the hired help?

There won't be any "flights" during an apocalyptic event, unless you secure your own. And they would still have to have transport to an airport, yeah right. An who has a runway on their property in the U.S. capable enough to have a international flight aircraft available? I guess the rich would, but you have to get home to get to it.

And they are trying to solve the problem by doing the only thing they know how to do. Throwing money at it.
