Title: Carb over flow
Post by Flemming from Denmark on 06/14/15 at 18:39:53

Hi.
I've just cleaned and polished my carb. The bowl and float needle has been removed. But no changes made. Fixed it on my working table and connected a tube to the inlet. When I aply alcohol through the tube, the bowl fills, I asume, and then it flows free from both places where the vent tubes is fitted. Had no vent tubes fitted.
I knoiw the vent tubes normally is placed higher tha than the carburettor. But anyway I can't understand the alcohol floats so high, much higher than the float needle. Off course I pulled the bowl and tryed the same scenario with a finger under the float, and it's completly closed, and can slack my finger and  drop it about 1/3 down before the alcohol floats from the valve. Everything by the needle valve is working perfectly smooth.
Is this normal, and don't happend whith the vent hoses on ? Or has I missed something important? Whish I coul se inside the bowl when doing it, but thats not an option.
