Title: Installing new switches..
Post by JohnsonLager on 06/01/15 at 19:56:46

I'm looking to replace some of my switches and I have a few questions.  First, the ignition switch has 4 wires going to it.  I want to wire up a really simple ignition switch.  I'd like to continue to use the kickstand kill switch, but am removing the clutch kill.  Can I get an explanation on how to wire this up?  I'm including pictures of the switch on the motorcycle and the switch I'm attempting to use.
Thank you.

So, you want to keep the keyed ignition but replace the handlebar start switch (in a different location I would presume) with the PB you showed a pic of?

There are some simplified schematic diagrams here on the website (like this one  http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1275340333   ) but the simplest thing to do would be to detach the wires from the handlebar switch and pull them out of the wiring harness, working your way down until you get to the gas tank area, then re-route them to the new switch. Replacement switch should be a standard "momentary" type with "NO" contacts.
