Title: Re: Paint Post by Dave on 05/27/15 at 07:58:27 If you are talking about buying automotive base/clear coat paint, a pint of color and a pint of clear used in an HVLP gun is plenty.  If you get fancy and do several colors, stripes, etc. and spray clear in between the colors....you might need more clear. I have no idea about spray cans.
