Title: ryca cs1 tank /seat order
Post by swing69 on 05/16/15 at 11:57:54

I watched the videos again, and the seat and tank always magically appear and disappear on the bike.

I haven't found an answer;  what goes on first?  the tank or the seat????

Looking at the hardware, it looks like the seat goes on first since the front end holes go over the bolts....then the tank.   But I've seen lots of pics where the tank is still installed, and the seat is off?  what gives?

Unless the nuts and tank bolts are off....then tilt the tank up and remove the seat, then put the tank back down.

Can anyone clarify?   Where is the ryca instruction on this? did I miss it?   :D

Tank. There are two bolts that become studs that are fed from the bottom side.

got it, thanks.  Its just another thing that was assembled incorrectly by the original owner.   1 of many things........   lol

I"m missing the larger OD, top rubber washers, but I can make them.
I did find the spot in the video series that puts the tank on.  It also says to install the tank without the petcock.....for clearance.

More fun on the way!   thanks..

I don't know about the OEM fuel valve, but if you are using the Raptor valve you won't have any clearance issues.

The stock vacuum petcock on most bikes won't allow the tank to come off, as the backside hits the frame.  With the Raptor it is not an issue and you can leave it on when removing or replacing the tank.
