none of mine will work .I guess due to electric ignition .so i am am looking for a induction type gage that will clamp on to the plug wire any suggestions?

Cheapest thing to do is by the engine hour meter type things that have internal batteries and a small wire that wraps around the plug lead. The bad side is the batteries are not replaceable and in 2-5 years you throw them away (along with the record of the hours they had stored).
