If you're not on SOME government list by now it's 'cause you're a ghost.

Actually you might be on one even if you are a ghost. A Dimocrat voter registration list.

It's kind of a meaningless list as there has to be at least 10 million registered motorcyclist in the us.

Motorcycle owner.
Gun owner.
Eagle Scout.
Clergy.
Veteran.

Been on lists since I was 15. Unless you are patched, the list is meaningless.

hmmm...
cops own motorcycles
and guns

so are they twice as likely to be involved in criminal activity?

Maybe, maybe not.

But consider this:

Cops aren't ON the lists. They HAVE the lists. They get to use them.

Try having a California CCW (stupid hard to get) riding a motorcycle and wearing a patched vest (metric bobber RC here in SoCal) and being stopped by a cop. I was in Orange County where there is a duty to inform law in place. Needless to say he was very uncomfortable and called for backup. Had to go thru a huge ordeal and took about an hour over not using turn signals to change lanes (it's a bobber and doesn't have any.)

Tried to explain to him why on earth would I inform you I have a CCW and the gun on me if I planned on doing something stupid. I pretty much interrupted his opening speach to let him know I was carrying.

I'm with WD
NRA member
Motorcycle owner
CCW holder
Veteran (trained shooter/explosives expert)
Oh and I'm a heavy set, heavily tattooed, bearded, bald headed white guy on a loud motorcycle
I'm on all the lists

Now read this as a European who doesn't understand your abbreviations...

Try having a California CounterClockWise (stupid [blonde playing]hard to get) riding a motorcycle and wearing a patched vest [you mean it was torn and you had to sew it up?] (british policeman on the beat with a tape ruler... Radio Controlled here in SoCal)
;)
I assume CCW is a "permit for concealed carry of weapons"... which is the oNLY way you are allowed to carry here in Europe, unless you are in the open countryside and are returning to your car after a hunt, with your shotgun slung over your shouldre and/or "broken open" (you know, when you have a double-barrel and you open it for safe carry)

I do realize you guys have an issue with outlaw MCs and "bad guys carrying" in general terms...

...which perhaps might be curbed if Federal and State laws demanded all purchases and private transactions of weapons and fundamental parts thereof to be registered with the State (just as you do with a car or motorcycle... it's just a simple statement saying "I hereby do declare I have bought/sold such&such serial no. to ...)

Similarly, if Federal and State laws demand you pass a driving test to drive, why shouldn't one pass a safety course for handling and shooting ? Fundamental to apply for a gun permit CCW or otherwise, without which you cannot carry ?

It isn't a matter of "stripping" a citizen of his rights to the 2nd Amendment, any mnore than a driving license strips the same citizen of violating the Right to travel.

It would save the law abiding citizen of a LOT of hassle...

AND

"I only brake for Jesus" also helps... or...

;D ;D ;D Even the cops will smile ... (I hope...)  ;)

@mpescatori I forget this forum is worldwide sometimes. Yes the CCW is a concealed permit. California in all it's glory does not accept this permit from any other state in the US. I moved here having had it since leaving the military because most states will accept your DD214(exit papers) as document for the permit. It took 5 years and befriending a high ranking officer in my area (he also owns a 60's era vw like me) to help me move up the list.

Stereotypes are just that. I've had my vest on in gas stations and had ladies pull their kids closer to them. Had older women clutch purses tighter. I don't have a big belly and a beard cause I wanna look like an outlaw biker I have it cause I like food and happen to be a chef so I have it at my disposal 60 hours a week. And the beard was just because I reached a point in life where I got tired of shaving!

I'm use to having strange looks though. My wife is black and my kids are bi-racial and I look like I could have just come from a brotherhood rally.

Well, the key here is; ‘What, is a Weapon”.   A, Firearm, is  NOT, a Weapon, until it is used as one.
Just as a Screwdriver, Hammer, Chain, Bat, Golf Club, Tire Iron, ext, ext, ext, are called by their name, UNTIL, they are USED, as a, ‘weapon’.

Oh, and for the people that do not live in this country, and actually think the ultra Liberal NEWS, Actually, tells the truth.
The, ’truth is’, regulation has been, REQUIRED, for Auto firearms, 1n 1934 & 1938. Then in 1968 for any other firearm.
And making more totally senseless laws, for LAW ABIDING Citizens, does NOT Stop, the DFI’s from using guns.
Gee, how prevalent is the private ownership of firearms in France ??????

Well then, most certainly, their should be a law, about, “Breeding” then.
And, OH, a, ’test’, for CCW, ALREADY  Exists !!!!!!!!!!!!!
And in the States/Cities, where their are looser regulations, the Violent Crime with a firearm is DOWN.
In the States/Cities where their are, Tighter regulations, the Violent Crime with a firearm is UP.

(One can NOT, 'spin', that FACT. Although many Ultra Liberals have tried)

A D.L. does, NOT, ’Strip’, someone of a right to travel. Don’t need a D.L. to walk, ride a hours/Cow/Donkey, a bicycle. Or a airplane, Train, Buss. Or have someone else to drive.  (One does, NOT, need a D.L. to get a airplane ticket. Just a proper Identification.)

And, ’striping’ the 2nd Amendment, is something King Bama, has tried to do, the MOST TIMES, of ANY POTUS.

thanks, Mn Spring, I was just about to say that same thing, basically
Also, you don't need a DL here to own a car, just to drive it on public streets

Understand what the word License means.

It's Permission to do what Would, without a License, be illegal.

Exactly. And lets not forget that most of the things that are ILLEGAL nowadays are not actually wrong. Having the power to declare something illegal is one of the most pernicious forms of government abuse. I'ts very often used by the powers that be as a mechanism to control us little folks and keep us in line.

Col. Pescatori -
In Ohio, to earn a concealed weapon permit, a person must go thru a state authorized and approved training course in both actually handling and shooting the weapon, as well as covering the laws concerning carrying a concealed weapon.
Likewise, to get a simple hunting license here, even for hunting small animals like rabbits, a person must go through a hunting safety course.  This is all classroom instruction; no actual shooting in this course.
Your shotgun ( we don't allow hunting with rifles in Ohio because the state is too populous and rifle bullets carry too far ) must be carried in your car in the trunk, broken open and unloaded.  Or, in the car of a vehicle that doesn't have a trunk, like a Jeep, it must be in a locked case and unloaded.

Forgot about, 'hunting'.

Have taught the MN  DNR Volunteer FSTC,
(Firearms Safety Training Course)
For the last 35 years.
And Now, if your are 18, you NEED, to complete this course,
to hunt in your, State of Residence, or in  ANY OTHER STATE.

And, again.  The Law Abiding person, is Sick and Tired, of the  No Nothing DFI, Ultra, LIBERALS, who know  NOTHING, about what the LAW,  ACTUALLY is!   And want to make up new, 'CRAP', to  RESTRICT,  Freedom !

So Again. If a bank robbery, was committed by someone in a,  'Red Car',
the solutions is  NOT, to ban, 'Red Cars', to Stop Bank robberies !!!!!

Laws that violate the constitution and bill of rights are supposed to be null and void, but of course liberal gun grabbers and decades of demonization of gun owners and guns has led to a public that is so afraid of an inanimate object the public has allowed the infringement of this right
