Title: Making Decals ?
Post by MnSpring on 03/29/15 at 15:36:00

Has anybody had experience, with making, (having made),
A, custom, 'slide off', decal for a rounded surface, like a MC tank?

I really like the one, (photo below),
Only would change the, 'Suzuki;  to, '650cc'.

Vinyl, sucks, and is really hard for a, 'rounded', surface.

Well, obviously someone knows how to do it.

You'd obviously have to experiment, but........

When I shaped surfboards, I would print my image on rice paper using my inkjet printer.  Rice paper is available at an art supply store, get the thinnest paper that will go though your printer.  When you apply a non-water-based material (e.g., fiberglass resin or perhaps automotive clearcoat from a spray can?) the rice paper will appear to dissolve (actually, it becomes totally clear).  Because the inkjet ink is water-based, it will not run.  Voila!  Decal!

Hadda be hard moving to Arizona for someone who likes surfing.
Surf's up is probably not something you hear a lot.
