Title: Wont rev up after Raptor petcock change Post by hairball on 03/23/15 at 11:22:40 I need a bit of advice or help here, I changed out the old petcock for a raptor petcock and can start bike but choke has to be all the way out and it will just idle and that's all, when I rev up the engine it dies. any suggestions? its a boulevard s40 650 and its a 2006 but I have less than 3k miles on it. |

Title: Re: Wont rev up after Raptor petcock change Post by hotprops on 03/23/15 at 13:33:27 sounds like lack of fuel flow.Did you buy the real real Suzuki part or a knockoff? there was a thread that addressed this and went so far as to specify correct fuel flow in cups per minute . ma by someone can find it and provide linkage . and yes you plugged the vacuum inlet on the carb right? |

It could... leaving the vacuum tap unblocked creates a giant vacuum leak... With no vacuum the engine has a hard time drawing in fuel... No fuel,.. no go... ;)... |

Title: Re: Wont rev up after Raptor petcock change Post by Serowbot on 03/27/15 at 22:38:52 It's very important to block that vac tap... It's not a flaw in the Raptor conversion,... a leak is just as likely in the stock vacuum hose... That tap being open, is like drilling a 1/4" hole in your intake manifold... |
