Title: Cyclegear sales and closeouts
Post by Rylee on 03/12/15 at 07:47:49

Just wanted to post an informative piece for anyone looking for some new riding gear or have been putting off getting a solid jacket cause they're so expensive. Cyclegear if in your area from early march until they have killed the stock basically reduce the prices to the point of almost not making profit in an attempt to clear the shelves for the upcoming seasons stuff. I needed a new jacket and I just got a full leather deal for $99 that was normally $300. The jacket to me was worth paying full price but at nearly 70% off I definitely couldn't pass it up.  Sorry if this seems like a sales pitch for cyclegear it's more a sales pitch for not so wealthy riders. We see all to often the guy cruising around in a hoodie or Burlington coat factory bomber jacket that really aren't gonna help much in a wreck and when asked the response is usually I can't afford 3-400 for a good jacket. Well here's your chance!

Forgot to post the jacket. If you go on the Website you can browse and find what you like. I've found that most of the products will be in store as well of you wanna try it on. There are a few exceptions like some of the close out stuff.

And for the sake of all things holy buy some gloves. It's a natural human reaction to put your hands down when you fall. Had some guy tell me the other night "I like to feel the grips under my hands" I asked him of he had ever been down and I new the answer before I asked. I say a little prayer (though I'm not very religious) every time I see someone zipping along with no gloves on. Sorry for the rant!

And a fine rant it was. Good gear is important. Gloves, always.

Looks a lot like the jacket I picked up which was made by FirstGear. Well worth the money.
Good gear can make a difference.

The, 'Store', Sales/closeouts, on jackets etc.
Are all, the very top or bottom on size.
And done, After, all the popular sizes are gone.

If you wear a, S, or 3XL, Many times you can get some very good deals.

Or, peruse, yard sales, flee markets, thrift stores.
I'm still wait-en on Serow, to give up one of his,
'Scores', in my size.    ;D ;D ;D

I'm actually a 46 which is pretty common and I found my size in all 3 jackets I had viewed on their website. If you have multiple store options like I do you will find what your looking for.

FWIW, Cyclegear frequently has their "store brands" at 50% off, I've bought a few things there but never paid their "regular price", even when the items were no longer on "sale".  I simply ask if they can give me the 50% off that I just missed or will be in the next month and they've always given it to me, YMMV.

That said, if you are interested in a Bilt, Custom Bilt, Sedeci, or Trackside item don't wait for a "close out" (when the sizes or colors are limited) just ask for the 50% off, which puts a "$300" jacket at $150

Also, FWIW, I haven't ever tried any of their store brands that actually FIT me, they all feel like they were designed for a square edged robot, and that includes many jackets, many helmets, several pairs of gloves and several pairs of boots, so I've given up on even trying them on. Again YMMV. My wife seems happy with all the Bilt gear we've bought her.
