Title: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 19:40:40 Hello everyone. Thought I would start a thread of my current bobber build. Its been a long, cold winter in Toronto, with record setting extreme cold weather alerts. March is here and I can feel the suns rays getting stronger. The build is coming along nicely, and I honestly could not have done it without the ideas and support from this forum. here ya go..... The day I got her, with 33xxx kms on it. |

Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:03:56 started ripping into her the next day |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:08:11 found a place for the regulator....mounted it on a peice of metal which I then screwed onto the inside of the fender mounting holes. |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:10:03 I bent one of the tabs on the on the starter solenoid and bolted it to the frame |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:11:00 ignitor goes on top |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:11:43 clean..ish |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:13:39 I had a good idea for the cc breather....found a brass elbow at home depot in the plumbing section. I thought this was the best way to do it....but I was having difficulty securing the elbow to the inside of the filter. For now ill just go with a cc filter |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:15:54 another shot |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:18:46 cut and mounted the rear fender( just a 20$ trailer fender of course), finishing the edge comes later |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:19:35 The look im going for is a smooth, sleeeek, look. mini turn signals of course |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:23:10 cut the ugly horns off. At this point I got a piece of metal to form a seat pan and figure out my lines |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:23:46 seat pan and side cover. Side cover is just building metal from home depot riveted together and cut to size. |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:25:51 a pic of the shed. Ive probably refilled that heater 50 times this winter....Also, my brand spanking new drill press on the left there. Took off the handlebars to get a feel for what I want |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:28:51 How she sits now. With the seat, I riveted some 8oz leather around the edge. Im going to add some foam, then glue some nice brown leather I picked up, then take it to a shoe maker and have him stitch the edges together. I added a black dyna pipe (sounds a million times better), and I bought little penny lights from princess auto (harbor freight in the states) for the front turn signals. Luckily, they fit absolutely perfect into the mounting spot for the stock ones. |
Title: Re: New Bobber build Post by Tony from tdot on 03/05/15 at 20:36:17 still a ways to go...if I didnt work nights and sleep during the day it would be done by now. Im going to have to add that little elbow at the exhaust pipe to make it fit properly. and of course ill be taking more pics. If anyone needs any help...please ask away!! |
