Post by bobdog on 02/18/15 at 18:20:09

Just pulled off the old tentioner. It was extended to a tight 17mm out. Is it to early for the number 2 hole on the versy ? Any tips on the gasket and cover replacement . I have a new one but, the old one looks good. just a little wet with oil . Thanks for any and all information !

If I remember correctly,... 17mm is a little tight for the second hole...
I would reuse the old gasket,(just wipe it clean) and install on the first hole...
Give 4 or 5k miles, or until you start hearing chain noise, then pull it again to go to the second hole with the new gasket...
19 or 20mm, and you can go second hole...
Nice thing?,... your adjuster can't fall out now, thanks to the pin...
;)...

If you have time,... Versy or Dave can confirm, but that's what I remember...

Betcha' feel a lot safer now...

install it on the 1st hole, how much travel do have left?

install it on the 2nd hole, how much would you have to push it in to bottom out?

at 17, you are probably ok to go to the 2nd hole, but it wouldn't be bad to check above.
