Title: Handlebar Grips Size? Post by Beagle on 02/17/15 at 21:01:09 Does anyone know what the stock handlebar sizes are? I'm looking to get some new grips since mine are the original ones (got a 1998 Savage) and they are looking pretty worn! :) I found some that say one side is 7/8" while the other one is 1" in diameter. Would this be right? Thanks! |

Title: Re: Handlebar Grips Size? Post by Dave on 02/18/15 at 09:25:20 The Savage and most other cruisers need a set for 1" diameter handlebars. One grip will be 1" and the other will be a bit larger so that it can fit over the throttle tube. Same for 7/8" bars that do not fit the Savage - but fit most standard and sport bikes....one will be larger so that it fits over the throttle tube. You have to be careful not to get 7/8" grips made for an ATV....they have a thumb throttle and both grips are 7/8", so they won't work on a motorcycle with a hand throttle. |
