The coating only goes inside as far as the tips. It feels 'slick' like it's been waxed, but it hasn't been. Sure hope the clamps can grip! 8-) |

Also said it was reasonably durable. Stay tuned! (don't hold your breath, I have a lot more work to do) 8-) |

I am curious to see how well it holds up. My experience with high temperature paint on header is that it looks pretty good when new and properly cured. However I believe the paint develops small thermal cracks in the paint - and moisture in the form of rain, dew, washing, etc. can get into those cracks and start the damage to the paint. If you only ride on sunny days and keep the bike indoors - paint holds up OK. And the only time I hold my breath any length of time....is when my wife makes me eat TOFU. |
