My wife did the same... got the power ball number. Your idea of what to do? I hadn't thought of that, but, next time I become a gazillionaire I'll buy a paper and start telling the dumb masses what has been happening. |

Title: Re: Almost a multimillionaire... Post by stinger on 02/12/15 at 23:20:29 When the odds are this high, you have exactly the same chance of winning with a single $2 ticket as you have if you spent $1,000. Your odds are no better. I usually spend my hard earned money more wisely on state funded Keno and scratch off cards. I have never won but I do have a nice pile of used tickets that I find work well as a note pad. And they replace the playing cards I use on my nephews bicycle spokes to make it sound like my 650. I guess I just like to see money at work. |

I can't grasp that. Seems to me that the more times I enter the more the odds are I have to win. |

When you buy 2 tickets...your chances are increased to "nearly tiny/small/slim". It is almost the same. :-? |
Title: Re: Almost a multimillionaire... Post by Blinky-FSO on 02/13/15 at 05:23:07 I stopped trying to get rich in a hurry years ago. I am not against gambling, I just have very realistic expectations. So much so that now when I go to a casino, I just hand the security guard at the door a couple of hundred dollars and save myself the time of losing it. Good hunting; and your lucky numbers are.............. |

My dad was a busy man,, put 100,000 miles on a car one year. He told me he went to his favorite bar, bought 6 cans of beer and went and dumped them in the urinal, cuz he just didn't have time to sit down and drink them. Yeah, he had quite a sense of humor.. Anyone who knew my dad KNOWS he would never intentionally spill beer. |
Title: Re: Almost a multimillionaire... Post by Kris01 on 02/13/15 at 17:29:51 I heard yesterday that your chances of winning are the same as being struck by lightning 50 times! :o |

A Few years ago, when I owned a Gun shop. A fellow came in, and bought a pound of power and a bag of shot. (Being the Consummate Salesman, I said: “Do you need any Wads, Primers, Hulls also?”) He said: “No, just going to N Minn, Grouse Hunting”. I must have looked at him with a bit of puzzlement on my face. So he continued: “Na, Just gonna dump out the power and shot on the ground, then go fishing”. If, 2.00, DOES win me the, 'lotto', it's the newspaper, AND, Country to Country ride on a S40. LLOLOLOLOL ;D |

Yeah, but not many people TRY to get hit by lightning.. |
Title: Re: Almost a multimillionaire... Post by MnSpring on 02/13/15 at 19:32:42 Yea, The, “Hit by Lighting”. In looking at AZ, more people are killed by, ‘lightning’, in Minn. Then Killed by ‘rattlesnake's', in AZ. (And we DO, have, 'Timber Rattlers', in the very S/E part of MN.) So, if one is, ‘Avoiding’ , Lightning, & Rattlesnakes, Want are the, odds’, now ? LOLOLOO ;D. Let's see, drive 7 hours North, do a turn around at the border, Then drive 40 + hours South, do a turn around at the border. At 100 + miles per tank, + How many motels/camping spots. How many days, would that take ? |
Title: Re: Almost a multimillionaire... Post by Serowbot on 02/13/15 at 20:45:31 I don't try or expect to win,... but just in case the Gods are trying let me win,... I buy one ticket every year or two... Just in case... :-?... So far,... they ain't... ;D... |
Title: Re: Almost a multimillionaire... Post by justin_o_guy2 on 02/13/15 at 20:58:27 Few typically stand on hill tops with a metal rod raised when thunderstorms are rolling through. People DO buy tickets. |
