Title: Oil Change Question Post by KennyG on 02/06/15 at 10:43:26 I am in the middle of changing oil and the first problem that I ran into was an error in the Clymer Manual about the oil plug being 17MM and I couldn't find anything 17MM on the underside of the engine. I found what looked like a drain plug with a 14MM head on it and sure enough oil came out when I removed it. The gasket washer on the oil plug is very small in outside diameter and is about the size of a dime. The gaskets that Ron Ayers sent are about the size of a nickel. What do I do now? Kenny |
Title: Re: Oil Change Question Post by Dave on 02/06/15 at 10:55:25 Different years had different size hexes on the drain plug. Just re-use the old washer....no big deal. Just snug the drain plug down and it will be fine - don't really tighten the drain plug....just snug. |

Title: Re: Oil Change Question Post by KennyG on 02/07/15 at 13:16:20 Apparently the 600 mile oil change to T-6 was successful. I just went for a 50 mile ride and my riding boots are dry. I will snug up the fasteners after the engine cools down I did notice after riding for a few miles that it takes less effort to lift the gear shift for the next higher gear. That is good. Kenny G |
