Title: Reverse riser
Post by Cobradagua on 01/20/15 at 18:34:52

Could someone explain how to reverse the riser on a newer model S40. Really want to try this out and cannot find any info on this anywhere. The more detailed the better please as I am mechanically challenged...pics would be great!
Thank you

Cover your gas tank with a blanket before you loosen the bars...
There are chrome plastic covers over the hex bolts... pry them out using a butter knife or something...
;)...

No...this is not in the Tech Section yet.  Take photos and document how you do it.....and then you can have your first post in the Tech Section.

This involves removing the 4 chrome plastic caps from the allen bolts on the riser caps, then loosen the 4 allen head bolts and the handlebars are loose.  Then lay the handlebars on the towels/blankets you put on the tank, loosen and remove the bolts/nuts that hold the riser in the fork yoke, and turn them around.  Put the handlebars back on the top, put the caps on the top, put in the 4 allen head bolts and caps.

This is easier than changing the oil (that is in the Tech section).
