First post and new to the bike scene. Pretty good with cars and picked up an 05 Boulevard S40 for 500$. The original tank is pretty messed up and I found a good deal on a 2014 tank will it fit?

Only difference in all the years is:
1986 have an extra light in the speedo, you can swap speedos to take care of that.
California models have a vent tube and some other crap instead of vented cap.

Thanks for the help. pulled the trigger. $100 for a painted 2014 tank instead of new 05 one for 300-500. I'm having a problem with bike though. should I make a new thread or could I post here?

either, gas tank probably doesn't have anything to do with your problem.
