Title: What to call the new electric Indian
Post by engineer on 01/16/15 at 07:39:46

This was on the wildguzzi motorcycle forum and I thought you guys could think up some funny names for the new electric Indian by Polaris.  Polaris bought Brammo electric motorcycles  "....As part of this transaction, Polaris will...... begin manufacturing electric motorcycles in the second half of 2015 at its Spirit Lake, IA facility."

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2015/01/polaris-owner-of-indian-and-victory-motorcycles-acquires-electric-motorcycle-business-from-brammo/

Dusty (oldbike54) at Wildguzzi had this comment for naming the new beast:
"Soooo... wonder what they will call the *electric* Indian ? Let's see , the Ampian , no , the Electric Warrior  , that doesn't sound right , hmm ...oh , the Plugindian   Cheesy"

Plugindian, that's pretty good, the best I could do was the Polaris "Polarity", it might be appropriate.

In their advertising campaign they'll be able to say things like:

It has Ample power.
Or how about the new Electrifying Indian, Shockingly fast!

It is a little difficult to imagine an electric Indian or Victory since their whole marketing campaign has been based on the resurrection of another big American twin.  Seriously, I think they will have to sell it with a different name.

Very Good Concept.  Quiet, Clean,
(should be), less maintenance.

However, important questions:
“How Many Miles on a Charge” ?
(Don’t see a answer for that)
How many, miles or cycles, on a set of batteries?
Or cost of a new set of batteries.
Or disposal cost on the old batteries.

This came into play when checking on Elect Cars.
The cost of a new, battery, at 1,000.000 miles +/-
was what that, used, car would cost at same.

HOWEVER, they did not tell you, what the COST,
of ‘Disposal’, of that OLD battery cost.
(Which in my research cost 5,000.00 +)

I would go to a dealer, look at the price,
THEN, go to the service department, ask the price for a ’new’ set of batteries.
AND, ask what the ‘disposal’ price is for the, ‘old’ set.

Still, the concept is a good one.
But, is it, practicable?
