Owned the bike for a year and a half, loved every minute of it, but I've began slowly modding it here and there.

I've got a dyna on, but I've been a bit apprehensive about messing with the carb. Something about it seem daunting...

As I understand it from the many, many posts I've read on the subject rejetting for sea level Southern California (low-moderate humidity) has me at 150/50 jets? I plan on removing the brass plug and working the idle mix screw as well which I think should be done before rejetting.

I'm new to mechanical work but pretty savvy and have worked with my hands for years so It's been quite fun wrenching around on something completely new to me. This will be the most mechanical project to date so far though, so advice from the vets is quite welcome.

Well that is definitely not the correct Pilot Jet you have linked.

Here is what the jets should look like:

And I agree that the #50 Pilot and #150 Main are a good choice for the place to start. And most likely the removal of the White Spacer on top of the needle with 3 washers that are #4 screw size.

Here is a link to how you go about setting the idle fuel mixture. Our carb is an "Idle Fuel Screw" - so turning it in makes the mixture leaner. Ideally the best mixture should occur when the screw is 1.5 - 2.0 turns out. If the screw is in more than 1.5 you need a smaller pilot jet, if the screw is out more than 2.5 turns...you need a larger pilot jet.

Well it just about figures that the only moto shop within reasonable driving distance doesn't stock mikuni jets...

Now I don't have an excuse to put off "more important issues"

At least for about a week.
