Well, I already had the head, that's not new. But the helmet is!

Cool. That's one of those fancy helmets that comes with free sunglasses!

Looks like you've got some serious ventilation going on!  I have an HJC with the same kind of built in sun visor.  I like it, but it isn't so great with direct sun.  Have you taken it for a ride yet?

My wife and I have the same ( model 67 I think). Though we both opted to replace the little visor with the full face clear shield ( come with it). The full face shields can be replaced with tinted shields, I got one of those but it is too dark most times, so I stick to clear.

the only "issue" ( I have that in quotes because its not really).. is that:
If the full shield is down
If you drop it
If it falls on the lower lip of the shield
Then it tends to beak not only the shield but also the mechanism that supports the shield. Fortunately, it can be replaced ( by the user) and does not even cost all that much.
They should have made the support parts more beefy so that the shield breaks and not the supporting parts.

PS: it works REALLY well with the built in headsets we bought!

Nah, it is only 31* here today. I'll wait until it is at least 40*

Pine, it is a model 67 and I got the clear face shield with it. I had on on my old helmet, but really didn't care for it that much, like the breeze in my face. I'll probably try it out though, just to see.

Yep Stew, free sunglasses, the wife likes that. But she will never wear the helmet. Go figure.

And Bot, I really enjoyed watching TV with it on. Maybe I will try it on the motorcycle some day.

Yep, that was a nice present. Santa said I was a good little boy!

Nice, I's like a helmet with built in sunsheild, but I like full face helmets unless I have a pretty good sheild on the bike

Finally got to take the new hat out for a ride. I really like it, fits a little different than my old helmet, this is not necessarily a bad thing. The slide down sunglasses work really well and seem to cut a lot of the wind noise off as well. I am pleased!  :D

Oh Yeah, Rub it in......YOU got to go for a ride!

I went out this afternoon and marked up a parking lot for paving bids, the work will be done in the spring/summer.  It was the first time in he last month the parking lot was not covered in snow....or the wind was so strong that the spray paint would blow away before it hit the pavement!

Glad you like the new helmet.

I got a new leather jacket from my wife, and my sister knitted me a wool thingy to cover my neck when it is cold.

Well send the jacket and the wool thingy down here, it was chilly.  :o

Who am I kidding?! It was in the 50*'s and not a cloud in the sky! Beautiful day in eastern NC! I just didn't get to ride far enough, that's my only problem. But any ride is better than no ride! Right? Right!  :D

This does lead me to a new problem, what to do with my old helmet.  :-/ I really hate to throw anything away, especially when there is a little life left in it. What's the best way to store it? Just set it on a shelf somewhere?

Maybe I could send it to Dave for the jacket he's not wearing.  ;)

how old id that helmet? they do have a 'life expectancy' based on the EPS deteriorating over time, I reluctantly replaced my Shoei for this reason, and discarded it, after making it unwearable (a much more difficult task than expected, even a Sledge wouldn't so much as crack the shell)

That is a good question, I'm not really sure how old the helmet is, but it is pretty old, probably too old, to be honest. I bought it at a yard sale before I had a bike to use with my ATV.  And I've been on here since '08 so . . . who knows how long the other guy had it. Is there a way to find out, a date somewhere inside, assuming I can read anything inside of that dirty, stinky thing?

originally there would have been a tag inside with date of manufacture, but if you've had it since 08, the manufacturer would tell you to trash it, the life expectancy is only like 5-7 years

It'd still beat all billy hell out of riding with a no helmet at all :)

I had my old Shoei until the padding wore out and Styrofoam hurt my head...
I'm keeping my HJC 'till it does the same...

I do wash it once or twice a year with laundry detergent and the hose in the back yard...

I hate change,... and I really hate breaking-in new helmets... ;D...

I'm kinda like that too. This is the first new helmet I've ever had. But my storage space is limited. Might make a target out of one of the old ones. Sledge hammer didn't have much effect, Art said. I wonder what a 45acp would do.  :-?

Remember to take the helmet off.....before you try this!   :o

Dunno about a .45, but a .357 will definitely defeat it  ;D
