I'm in the middle of rebuilding my bike and come to realize that I am likely to need a newer wire harness for my 1987 Savage due to the previous owner's desire to fine tune his "jerry rigging" skills on it :) For the most part it was functional when I bought it but I would feel better replacing it now that I have it all apart.

I guess what I need to know is what model years can I use to replace the wire harness. Thanks

You can take a look at the wiring diagrams and confirm but I think 87 thru 90 will work

same wiring diagram 87-94, 91-94 will only be found in canada and EU.
so take a look at the controls for the year you find
if they look the same, most likely they'll be the same.

Thanks for the help verslagen1 :) And yes, Yoshi, I'll be sending you an email in regards the the '87 harness.
