Title: Rear fender bib
Post by Srotag on 12/13/14 at 13:52:58

Went with a solo seat on my 2005 (Yamaha 1100 VERY comfortable) and it looks like about 4 3/4 X 13 bib will cover everything nicely.

Searched a bunch of Mustang numbers but 5 1/2 seems about the narrowest.

Anybody gone down this road and have a pert number??

Thanks  :)

Why do you think a 5.5" wide fender bib wouldn't work?  The fender itself is plenty wide enough.

You might try finding a local leather worker and seeing if he can make a custom piece to your liking. To make a fender bib isn't hard; it's just a few stamps, stitches, and holes.  Never hurts to ask - you might even save a buck.

Several bumps on the fender under that long two up seat.  4 3/4 looks like it would fit the best.

The 5 1/2 for hd sportsters would hang over the hump where the regulator was mounted.

Guess the question was what have others done??  Thanks

Went with a Mustang 78031...says 5 1/2"  will see how it covers.  DW says just buy an English wheel and make a new fender....no thanks.  ;D

Will post pics when done.

Do you have some skinny fender?  My rear fender is almost 8 inches wide.  IMHO I would think a 5.5" bib would be enough to cover the mounting hump for the rectifier and be long enough to smooth the transition into the rest of the fender.  I bet it'll look great.   ;)

Wouldn't Need a bib if you'd learn how to ride and not slobber so much.

I remember shortly after getting the bike and getting it on some back roads, away from everyone,, and I heard a sound,, one I hadnt heard in a while,, it took me a few seconds to figure out what it was.. I was Laughing,,  I wasnt aware I was Gonna start laffing,, I was just so overcome with joy, the feeling of freedom,, spontaneous laughter just Came OUT,,  Not in traffic,, only out, away,, and at speeds below adrenaline levels.. That went on for weeks,, finally, riding became more normal and I stopped just laffing out loud,,, the smile? Never dimmed.
