Forgive me for tagging onto an old thread.

I am still trying to figure out which wire to tap into on the indicator light connection because my blue/black wire is not apparent.  While reading this I had just taken off my left sidecover with help from the detailed pictures.  There is mention that the left side gasket is useable once and the replacement comes with adhesive when heated.

Does this mean the gasket sticks to the crankcase on its own?  Do I have to heat it up to get it to seal?

gaskets just have to be positioned correctly, engine heating takes care of the rest.

Thanks!

Anyone have any advice removing the old gasket?

It seems to have stuck to the cover and the engine, and doesn't seem to coming off easy and where it has, it left a residue that I assume has to be removed before reinstalling the new gasket and cover.
