Title: bondo on stock tank?
Post by jachase1980 on 10/30/14 at 09:35:32

my tank is about to go to powder coater and his question was was there any bondo on the tank, its a stock tank with stock paint job 2001 green and cream. Best answer I could give him was "i dunno" has it been common/uncommon to have stock tank with bondo on it?

I would say that almost all stock tanks dont have bondo on them.  Ive heard of cars getting patched up as they may need it when they come off the ships from Japan, but not so much on the bikes.

He will find out anyways once he removes the paint.

Why powdercoat a tank?  Paint works pretty good and usually looks better. Powdercoating usually doesnt have the same shine.

Factory paint jobs don't have any filler on them.  It should powder coat OK.
