Title: Compression release lever travel Post by John in Kalifornia on 10/29/14 at 18:07:10 I think I outsmarted myself. I modified the replacement gas tank with a deep tunnel so it would sit low over the frame. It came out right aesthetically but now the compression release lever is not accessible. Question is: how much travel is needed to lift the valves? That is from when the lever first contacts the valve lifter “finger” til it actually does something. I think it would only be 30 degrees or so of rotation. I can add an adapter connector between the original cable operated lever and the aftermarket lever that will let the lever sit lower. Anybody help here?
