Title: The next project
Post by verslagen1 on 10/18/14 at 22:31:12

I got a cap that was jammed.
After driving the cylinder out.
I made a replacement out of aluminum.
I still have to machine the pegs on the backside.
And another problem is how to keep it in.

Cut a groove for an "O"Ring, and pop it in.

worked like a charm... now for the fun part, mill the pins on the backside.

LOL, going outside to see what mine looks like from the inside, and to see how easy it is to remove.
I personally don't worry about gas being stolen from my bike, its stored in the garage and never left alone for very long.
When I park it, I always leave it in view of a building window, hoping thieves won't go thru my two unlocked side bags (they only have crappy tool set and some fix a flat at present).
Maybe you could shape that top like a gear, so it would be easier to grip and turn with gloves on.

Or a cam lobe would look pretty sweet.

Machined the pins on the back and assembled.
a little tuff to assemble but once it's together, works great.
