Title: Replacing oil sight window? Post by Moto Duck on 10/16/14 at 15:42:24 We need to have our engine side covers powdercoated as part of a custom job I'm doing on my girlfriends Savage. Can anybody tell me what I need to do to remove and then reinstall the oil sight window? It looks like it has a rubber seal on the outside and some sort of adhesive sealant on the inside. Thanks! |

Post by Dave on 10/17/14 at 04:55:24 When I took my case off to polish it, I found the white sealer that was applied at the factory was loose and I just pulled it off. I cleaned the area well and put JB Weld around the edges. I have never tried to push the glass out however........ |

I ended up buying a watch crystal that was the same diameter as the old one and used some clear epoxy... Haven't put brake fluid in it yet but hopefully it holds. |
