Good hunting

It was a great time and it was even better to meet Dennis (Blinky-FSO) and see Dave again.  I was too busy riding to take many pictures but here's one on the ferry from Higginsport, OH to Augusta, KY:

Stuart, Dave:

I enjoyed the ride. I hope I did not slow you guys down too much. A couple of pictures of everyone's S40.

Man.......If I could only turn the clock back 24 hours!

I am sitting in the first day of a really tedious 2 day Building Code Seminar, and there is one rude fellow with his feet up on the table that keeps interrupting the instructor with his observations.

Riding was soooooo much better!

You guys had great weather. I wish I could have met up with you, but I think I was where I should have been. Although I did get a short ride in the afternoon.

You were where you should have been. Soccer?

Good news on the Goldwing. I put it in for a safety check at a local shop known for servicing Goldwings. I knew going in the tires needed to be replaced. The front was cupped and was manufactured in 2006, the rear was fine and had almost all the tread depth left but was manufactured in 2007. Both the clutch and both hydraulic brake systems needed flushed and the fluid replaced.

I did not tell them anything when I dropped it off. They just called and said that the tires needed to be replaced and the clutch and brakes needed the DOT 4 changed. But other than that, the bike seemed solid, wheel bearings, forks, steering head bearings, brake pads were all solid, no unusual shakes, shimmies, all the electrics working.....good news all around.

I bought the tires from them, Dunlop E3 bias, new 90 degree stems, installed and tax comes to $484 plus $60 labor for the clutch and brake bleed and greasing the drive shaft splines, plus fluid and grease. I am a happy camper. Now to run that thing up from 48,000 miles to 148,000 miles. Hope to have it back tomorrow but it may be Monday.

Good hunting

Let's hope you get it back tomorrow.....Sat. and Sun. are supposed to be great weather for riding.

My 2000 ST1100 had the original clutch and brake fluid in it.....and it was turning orange and gooey. I flushed them and put in new fluid....and the front brake was much smoother afterwards.  It was "notchey" before the change.

I hope to go on a nice long ride this weekend......not too many of these weekends left in 2014.

Yep, soccer. My seven year old and I with her first ever trophy.

We are planning on leaving the northeast part of Cincy around 8:30 tomorrow morning, stopping at Fuel Cars and Coffee for a bit, then riding the ferry over to Augusta for some fun. Perhaps we might cross paths.
