What do you guys think of this sissy bar for my  savage?

I feel like it would be cool, but not sure.... Open to opinions.

My bike is mostly stock...

I worked in a bike shop in the late 70's.....we used to sell a lot of that kind of "accessory".

I was not a fan of them then, and I still isn't, ain't, aren't.

The high sissy bar with the diamond pattern always reminds me of the chopper craze....it just didn't look right on a standard style motorcycle (Cruisers had not yet been created).  They were really tacky with the blue, gold or red metal flake vinyl!

To pull the Sissy bar look off properly....I expect Peanut tanks, extended forks, and ape hangers are a necessity.  I am also not exactly sure how you are going to adapt this to your bike - most of these used the fender or seat and shock mounts....and your shocks are really wide apart compared to what this sissy bar requires.

This is the closest thing I could find...so you might see how it would look.

However......it is your bike and your adventure.....I am not going to tell you not to do it.

IMO, Daves pic is even too much. IDK who is gonna be on it, but for my nickel, all I think Id want is something that comes up about 6", to the top. Now, if ya want it to hang some kinda bag on for travelling, then thats a different matter entirely. Remember, if its just a "statement" and more for looks than function, these bikes are physically on the small side, and a big Anything bolted to it mite tend to make it look visually "out of balance"..

Sissy bars interfere with my bail-out option... ;D...

I go with bar-end mirrors, and extremely low shield for the same reason...
Need room to fly... :-?...

I'm beginning to agree with you guys... Didn't think about it too long, but that sissy bar IS pretty huge.

I was hoping to go for something to give ita vintage asthetic, but that sissy bar probably isn't the way to go...

Thanks for the input.

Just make one.Mine's rigid, but you could still come off the frame and shocks with it.

Just throwing out my sissy bar here. Some might not like it but I enjoy it, my wife likes it, and it came in handy on my recent road trip.
