Title: ELECTRICAL ISSUE!!
Post by savagetyler650 on 10/02/14 at 12:44:40

Hey guys i have a 2003 suzuki savage that only has about 5k miles on her. I was riding the bike all day and was working perfectly until out of know where the bike just cut off on me. The neutral light doesnt turn on neither does the headlight. I checked the ground and all the wires and nothing seems wrong. I have no idea whats going on and im real worried about the savage. Any tips or suggestions??

When you turn on the key....does anything work?  Turn signals, brake light, horn, etc.  Tell us what things "do" work.

Was the engine running when it stopped working?  Have you tried puling in the clutch lever or putting up the kickstand (or both) and see if the starter button runs the starter motor?

You look at the fuse with a light behind them,, if its blown, youll see the guts of the fuse are not connecting.
An Ohm meter makes this 100% foolproof.
Harbor Freight, $6.00, or free, if ya catch it right.. Little red meter,

Dead, nothing works?  There's a green connector under the seat somewhere- did that to me once...

It's an interesting story, but I'm pretty sure i've told it AT LEAST twice... ;)

or  -    ignition switch?
