Title: Repairing LS650 Starter
Post by BigCanTikiMan on 09/11/14 at 16:35:56

I bought this bike off my friend. It's a 1987 Suzuki Savage LS650. I was there when he bought the bike from a guy for $1,850.00. All they guys said the front brake needs to be repair and that something is wrong with the starter. He fix the front brake and road the bike for about 6 months or 8 months. One day bike wouldn't start and he tried to fix it but he couldn't. So he sold it to me. As i been working on it the starter works but bike is not turning over. So took the left case cover off thinking it was going to be Idle Gear but no the idle gear is fine. It turn out that the start drive gear had broken tooth. Now i got to replace the gear it $215 for the part and plus you have to buy Rotor puller and 36mm socket to pull out the part.

There's often someone parting out a bike...

It's also a good idea to put your location in your membership info...
Are you in the US?...

Have a, 'like new', one.
Which is totally complete, and working.
For less than the, 'parts' you need.
Should be just, "Plug & Play".

I, PM'ed you.
