Title: louder horn Post by victorbsa on 09/05/14 at 17:43:17 I would like an easy to install electric horn that is super loud. No compressor or relays. Had one like that which was great but big and hard to install. Any ideas from anyone?? Thanks |
Title: Re: louder horn Post by MnSpring on 09/05/14 at 18:09:54 I was thinking, of taking the, OEM, horn, off the 97, adding it to the 06, Tune to two different, 'sounds'. Would that work, (by the vast experience here), with the current relay, and not burning things out? In my research, a, 'bigger' horn, would need a, 'bigger' relay. Do Not use a Horn much, but when I need it, "on rare occasions", would like something better than the, 'Road Runners' "MEEP_MEEP". |
Title: Re: louder horn Post by thumperclone on 09/05/14 at 20:50:21 hard to do LOUDER w/o relay I got an auto horn @ auto zone worked fine for a couple of years now I think I pitted my button |
Title: Re: louder horn Post by Fishbulb on 09/06/14 at 11:48:47 I installed a Hella Supertone (the red ones) on the factory bracket. Had to bend the bracket a little so it does not hit the tank or fork, but it fits and plugs right in. And, yes, it IS louder.... |

So... IF a driver hears the stock savage horn... what is he looking for? a runaway bumper car? Better to be heard and looked for than not heard and felt. |
Title: Re: louder horn Post by old_rider on 09/07/14 at 20:45:05 I would think any 12v horn would work...... |

LOLOLOL ;D ;D ;D A-Yep, that would be nice. And it is most possibly, probable to have. A little retro fitting of existing parts, and a bit of money. But, Is probably not going to get get the attention of the H.S. Girl, on the cell phone. Who is about to cut you off, Caz she be talking to her BBF. She would probably think she hit some strange app on her cell phone, and couldn't understand the strange music. But, If if could happen, at a reasonable price, I'll take, 'Star Trek' (Org TV series) sound LOLLOLO ;D ;D ;D |

Title: Re: louder horn Post by cafecarl on 09/09/14 at 08:22:22 I use a WoLo bad boy on my Ryca, but space might be a problem on a stock machine. They need a rely and also draw 20 to 30 amps depending on what model you choose. I used the 20 amp circuit that was freed up when I did away with the compression solenoid. Only drawback, it's active with the key off (don't tell the kid next door). I don't know what people expect to see when I blast 'em with it, but it sure gets their heads up. ;D |
