first I would like to say hello , I'm new to this board , second is I recently purchased an 86 ls 650 , my question is , is it an f or a p ? I'm trying to order some parts and I want to make sure they are right

That's probably not a problem,really. Once you have been around a while you'll get comfortable and realize that nearly everything is interchangeable on these things. Knowing is good,of course,not knocking that at all,just saying don't stress,these things are easy to buy stuff for. Not like a woman at all.

Not much difference between the 2

F is flat bars and P is pull back bars

the difference is the risers, cables and master cylinder.
otherwise they are exactly the same.

thanks for all your reply's cant believe it's just that simple as flat bars and pull back bars , doesnt really matter it has z bars on it now , lol

Man,you can be running"WTF" bars on it now,,the main stuff is still the same. You can see a difference between years in the ignition and electronic stuff and carb jetting and the transmission,4 vs 5 gears,sTarter,antikickback,

Seaweednh , it's fine being a sleeper , not really built for speeed more for comfort , I  like to sit up straight not going to win any races with it anyways , lol
