Cross Purposes

Because I am a kina of a, ‘McGiver’, like person.
I always look for different things, to do different purposes.

Case in point, I re-load ammo, and cleaning the brass is sometimes necessary.
Going to a, ‘GUN’, store/site, the, crushed walnut hull, ‘cleaning media, (one of which I use), is, about 10.00 for 1 pound.
But at a, pet mart/mart store, one can buy the same thing for, 10.00 for 25 pounds.
(Snake/Lizard, bedding)

The handlebars of the LS650/S40, are 1 inch in diameter. A Scope of a firearm is in 95% of the time, 1” in Dia.

A ’Scope’ ring, will fit around the handlebar, just tap the base, or use a ‘base’, so something. to mount, what ever you want. At a HUGE saving, over a, ‘Motorcycle’ handlebar mount.

‘Rings’ for firearms come in, Carbon Steel, blued or matte blue, Stainless Steel, Aluminum is, ’sliver’ or matte or gloss black.

Just a thought, to save some money.

Good to know. I'm going to grab my calipers and run off to Cabela's to check out the scope rings. This could be interesting. I need to try to mount a small, home made tablet to my bar, and I don't like the plastic crap they sell for those mounts.

Here's a tip I learned when I lived in the cold and snowy Midwest:
In the winter, road salt would cost $25 a bag at Menards.
The same size bag of "water softener" would cost $10.
What is "water softener"? Salt.

"sodium chloride" is the, 'fancy name', for, 'road salt'.

And YEA, 'Cross Purposes', WORKS.
I Buy, 'Sol er Salt, (ROCK Salt) , at 1 tenth the price per pound.
at the GAS STATION !

Love it, Locally, the County, has made a BIG DEAL, about how a Big Local CHEESE, Company, HAD to install Millions of dollars worth of, 'containment ponds', for their, 'wast water'. (Because it can hurt the environment).
Guess what, if you buy, Bongerds Cheese, YOU paid for those Ponds !!!!!! (Curticy of Carver County MN)

NOW, they put the SAME THING, on the streets.

SAME THING, (Because it has, 'salt', in it), on the streets.

Gee, where does all that, 'Salt', water go, when it melts in the Spring ???

As the the, 'rings' go to a, 'Gun Show', look at used parts,
LOT cheaper than the New ones at the big BOX store.

Yeah,as a body man I saw LTD and Buick fenders put on Lincoln's and Cadillac..BIG difference in money..
