I probably would never try this because this would probably be the only way to blow these reliable engines.

Diesel Thumper maybe a turbo too. But with a turbo you would have to do fuel injection because carb tuning might be impossible

Im thinking the high compression of a diesel would just rip the thing apart.

A guy SAVAGEBOB in Christchurch New Zealand is attempting to supercharge and has had limited success, he's also had problems with mixture and carb sizes. Apparently there is a diesel version of the Indian made Royal Enfield perhaps you could start by turboing one of those.

A small draw through turbo and carb tuning is not as bad as you would think. However I'm no totally sure as to how you would swap the spark plugs out for glow plugs and the accompanying ignition system.

If you're interested in diesel bikes, this website is cool: www.dieselbike.net I thought about building one before I got my Savage, but even the smallest engines are expensive.

Diesel smoke is somehow therapeutic. I do some of my best thinking while I'm out in the field on the tractor, with some fumes wafting to my nose.
