Title: Requesting pictures- 10" and 12" Ape Han
Post by JohnsonLager on 07/25/14 at 10:59:41

Does anyone have pictures of either 10",11" or 12" ape hangers on their s40?
I'm thinking about installing a set and I'm unsure which size to install.  Also, please add if you had to install any larger cables.
Thanks,
Brian

I sat on my bike, closed my eyes, put my hands where I wanted them, opened my eyes and measured bars I needed.  10"  Got them on, too wide, chopped 1.5" off the ends.  I had buckhorns, the wires worked.  Brake hose a stretch, need stainless steel braided anyhow.   Stainless ty-wraps to keep it clean.

Mirrors were wrong, or I am too wide, didn't see full lane behind me so I went back to the stock mirrors.

I went with the apes for comfort. WD said they are.  He was right.

Old Thumper, A Beast of a Beer.  (Link) (http://shipyard.com/content/old-thumper)  The thingie on the bike was a Beer Tap, to label draft beer in the pub.  Perfect size to bolt on the forks.
A good beer, available in bottles,  Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt:

13.5" rise, stock cables and brake hose, extended wiring. Savages are very small, very cramped...  http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y490/mphsgal/LISA-HP/Photos/Cars%20Trucks%20Motorcycles/J-bike/J-bike-05-04_zps829300d4.jpg http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y490/mphsgal/LISA-HP/Photos/Cars%20Trucks%20Motorcycles/J-bike/DSC00001_zpsb60221b3.jpg

Upgraded to 15" rise after my stepson destroyed the 13.5" rise build in a 35mph lay over...  http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y490/mphsgal/LISA-HP/Photos/Savage/chikstik1web_zpsfa7142e7.jpg  http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y490/mphsgal/LISA-HP/Photos/Savage/drum1_zpsf5d2eb35.jpg

Destroyed one of my shoulders (completely) in a 2/2008 bike wreck. Lost significant range of motion. Bike now has 6 inch AEE dogbones and late model FL touring bar... http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y490/mphsgal/LISA-HP/Photos/Savage/fenderlight_zps5c9f421a.jpg  http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y490/mphsgal/LISA-HP/Photos/Savage/fullrear_zpse5d3fcf2.jpg http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y490/mphsgal/LISA-HP/Photos/Savage/bigbags_zps78b2dfad.jpg

I've had the orange bike since it was brand new. Have redone it several times, this will be its last incarnation. Electrical system had a massive failure in 2010. The bike needs to be finish wired so I can get off the 2003 long enough to make it better suit my needs/tastes in bikes.
