Title: Latest mod: motorcycle as tractor, plowin'
Post by BalingWire on 07/22/14 at 03:39:22

Biketor?

"The upgraded motorcycle became a multipurpose machine that could be used for ploughing, sowing, interculturing, spraying insecticides, and also as a small goods carrier. An added advantage was that whenever required it could be easily dismantled into a regular motorcycle. It soon became a hit with other farmers. Many farmers in Saurashtra already owned motorcycles and wanted to modify their vehicles too."

In both cases I'd like to see a lower 1st gear
Right now we have idle in 1st at about 9mph?
I'd like to see it at 1mph

Street tires just wouldn't cut it, perhaps remove the rear tire, replace it with a jack shaft (could be a hub with no rim) chain drive to the plough wheels.

and I would not like to push with the front fork, our fork is whippy enough, that thing will knock it out of straight for sure.

That'd get old snow plowing like that really quick.  Have to push back every time.   But, your legs will get plenty of exercise.

I could see it going to a transmission of some kind in the "adapter unit" that would give a top of around 20 and an absolute crawl in first. You'd have more power at the wheel than you could possibly use given the weight you have to work with.

Love ‘BailingWire’s” submitted photo.

Lets see.  No Hat, No Gloves, Tennis shoes,
and a Wet Driveway.

LOLOL, reminds me of the time, I was in Dewy AZ, (Near Prescott)
I am standing on the porch of the house, barefoot,
with my ’T’ shirt and sleeping shorts on, having a cup of coffee,
looking at the wonderful landscape.

The wife of my friend came out and said:
“What Are You Doing ?”
She was dressed in, a Overcoat, hood up, over her house coat,
and her slippers inside her husbands boots.

So I guess, it is all relative.

OBTW, that was at 7AM, by, 11AM, Snow was all gone, and it was 70 +

OK......speaking for my torquey 650 single.....

What keeps the engine cool when plowing along at 1 mph?  Can't be much air cooling going on at walking speed.
