Title: Northern Ontario Road Trip
Post by Retirement_Rider on 07/20/14 at 04:11:25

Hi All

I just returned this week from a road trip from southern Ontario to Ignace Ontario (Ignace is about 125 miles northeast of Thunder Bay) to visit with family.  2,200 miles of joyous, joyous riding! Laughing inside the helmet kind of fun.  The S40 performed like a champ, with absolutely no problems.  I inspected the bike front to back every evening, and the only thing I needed to do was top up the oil a couple of times.  Average highway speed along the way was 65-70 mph, which seemed to be it's sweet spot. The bike took very good care of me.

I'm attaching a photo the bike and I beside a small bay on Lake Superior.  I resized it to get the resolution down, but don't know how it's going to come out when I post this message.  I'll give it a try anyways.

This forum was so useful in preparing for the ride including the essential items to take, rain gear advice, windshield advice, etc. You folks really helped a lot for which I am grateful.

This was my first long ride, but it sure won't be my last!

Thanks again everyone!

The pic looks good.  Glad to hear you had a great trip! I bet there's lots of beautiful country on that long of a ride.
