word on the street is KEVLAR drive belts are getting put on new bikes by various manufacturers !!!! not sure if anyone has brought up this in a topic.... :-X  any insight on the Ls650 belt ? I believe BANDO is the belt MFG.

Kevlar while high strength is bend sensitive.

maybe not an issue with our belts, but bow strings didn't last long.

Some folks put 'em on scooters with CVT's but it can be problematic.
When a rubber belt breaks, it just breaks.  When Kevlar belts go. they come apart in some very undesirable ways.  I've seen all manner of damage done to clutches and variators on scooters from Kevlar belts shredding.

It may not be an issue since our belts aren't inside a CVT but I wouldn't take a chance.
