Title: Raptor 660 Petcock
Post by Jim396 on 07/15/14 at 22:27:51

I've installed my new petcock, and my 2011 LS650 is happy! No questions, just research from the site.

So far two problems solved and lots of ideas.

Thank you for maintaining this site!

Next on the list "Tires".

My Raptor petcock is arriving at the dealership today.

Yes, this is indeed an outstanding forum.

And my Raptor is installed in the gas tank now too.

I inserted a 3/8" long stainless steel metal screw into the vacuum opening, with some black goop left over from sealing the head cover (after a job of re-sealing the head plug to stop the infamous oil leak.)  It slipped in until the last little bit, and I turned it a quarter turn with the threads biting just a wee bit on something. Suits me.

I haven't given in the spark test yet. I'm messing about with the valve cover off, making sure my decompression solenoid is adjusted correctly so I don't burn up the exhaust valves.
