I have a 95 ls650 savage with 7k original miles. its had a ping or tick noise since ive owned it. I first thought it was the timing chain tensioner so I had it upgraded buy Verslagen1 and I still have the noise. Ive changed the oil on time and before the tensioner upgrade it had the valves adjusted/ They have not been adjusted since the upgraded. I took a video with my phone so I hope the quality is good enough to help. Thanks in advance. :)

I have resigned myself to the fact that a big single is a noisy beast. I tend to get paranoid about noises too.... I feel your pain. :-X

Press down on the speedo while you are driving and see if it goes away.

Mine dies as well. I adjusted the valves and it helped for a little bit. It still runs real good, so I make sure it has shell rotella and I don't worry about it anymore. ;)
