Wondering what size (diameter) the fuel line is and if people are installing inline fuel filters? Thanks.

Inline filters seem to restrict fuel flow too much.

Fuel line size is 5/16th. The 1/4 is too small. 3/8 is what I have on mine and my thought is that the Jets are only going to allow as much fuel as necessary in due to vacuum caused by the carb. May switch to 5/16 to see if I get better mpg though.

Inline filters can get an air block and restrict fuel flow. The small hole at the inlet/outlet of the filter can get an air bubble in them that blocks the flow and prevents the fuel from flowing down the tube.

It is better to clean out your tank and allow the filter on the petcock to do the filter work.

I had an inline filter installed after some paint chip from the fuel tank blocked my carburetor float valve and flooded the chamber.

Never had problems with fuel flow (at least not on PRI setting). I recently installed another one, together with a raptor petcock, and as far as I can tell the engine works great.

I have an inline fuel filter as well with a non vacuum petcock and never had an issue with it.
