Title: petcock Post by rl153 on 07/07/14 at 18:30:46 Do you have to remove a raptor petcock from time to time and clean the screen, and how often should you do it? |
Title: Re: petcock Post by Dave on 07/07/14 at 18:47:09 Unless you have a rusty gas tank.....you are not likely to need to clean anything. The fuel that comes out of the pumps is filtered and clean when it goes into your tank. Dave |
Title: Re: petcock Post by HAPPYDAN on 07/07/14 at 20:08:14 I understand that the sloshing action from riding will keep the screen free of any debris that gets in the tank, but it will settle to the bottom. Many years ago, I had a TS-250 Savage, and when I removed the tank to paint it, some junk came out, but not much. Should be OK. |
Title: Re: petcock Post by Serowbot on 07/07/14 at 22:36:59 Noop... I never do... ...but,... I do turn the Pet to Reserve once or twice a year (when I think of it),... to pull some fuel down the reserve tap... Mostly superstition... maybe?.... :-/... ...(I carry a couple of t-shirt sleeves)... to use as... (wrist bands to block cold winds, rags to mop up, headband, neckerchief, faceshield cleaner,... and... ...I hang one on the throttle to remind me that I turned the Pet off to park... or I hang one over a mirror, to remind me that I put the Pet on Reserve)... ...it's my motorcycle... post-it... :-?... ...( If I see a T-shirt sleeve hangin' on my bike... I know I did somethin' weird)... ...just got to figure out what... :-?... |
