Title: head plug oil leak

Head plug oil leak.  Can I access this plug with out have to pull the whole top of the motor off? Maybe by going through the side plug?

I just received my head plug in the mail, with some other gaskets, and will follow the directions and pictures folks have here online.

No way out of doing it the hard way.

If this is the machine's first head plug leak, then consider it time to pull the head cover, re-torque the head and set the valve lash. This job could wait until the end of the riding season.

If this is the 2nd or 3rd head plug leak, try sealing the head nut in the front of the engine, facing down. Takes about 20 minutes, mostly from cleaning the oil and grit from the area, then dabbing a bit of RTV on to the nut. If it still leaks after that, see "first head plug leak".

I sold mine with 20,000 miles , never touched  a head bolt, no leaks.
