What type of oil is best for a 87 savage? I live in FL so its really hot!!

Rotella 10W-40 seems to be the recommended oil from all the old=timers on the forum. You can get it at Walmart, AutoZone or most auto supply stores. It has ZDDP (zinc addative) that helps the wear and tear on the inner parts.

Yup, its what i'm running in the wife's and mine. Seems to run quieter, but that could just be my imagination.
Where abouts in florida you live? i'm in the panhandle near fort Walton beach.

Nice thanks a lot!! I appreciate it! I wasnt sure what rotella becuz there was no 10-40 so I got valvoline 4T stroke full synthetic 10w-40. But im gonna return it and get the rotella!!

Funny, my "great wall of china mart" has Rotella in 5W40, 10W30 and 15W40....

I use straight 30 and even it is too thin. Have to hit up Autozone or O'reilly for some straight 40. I gave up on 15W40 for summer use, good winter oil for Dixie though.
