Title: HD Inflation
Post by HondaLavis on 06/23/14 at 13:39:09

Has anybody else noticed it?  I saw the price of the new 750 at $7,499 and thought "Wasn't that about what they were selling the Iron 883 for?"  I looked back at the 2013, and it was at $7,999.  So I looked at the price for the new Iron 883 - $8,399!  I did another quick comparison on the Softail Fat Boy Lo:  2013 was $16,799, but the 2014's were 17,499!  I guess the MoCo is trying to make up some money?

Sporty's are still pretty reasonable in price... (the Superlow 883 is comparable to other 800 or 900cc bikes in price)...that's why I don't see much in that 750 ...
Harley shoulda' made a 500cc thumper... priced in the 5 or $6k range...(they already had the engine)... :-?...

Yeah, maybe they could call it "The Blast."  Or even better, "The Blast From The Past."

I have never been able to see the reason for raising the price just to raise the price.  It appears to me that you will begin to force out potential buyers.

From what I've seen, every motorcycle on the market is WAY overpriced.  Not counting that my local dealership has most of their inventory marked substantially above MSRP. Hey it's summer...selling season was the remark I got from one of the sales guys.  Since they have the big 4 locked up in this area, they do still sell even at those prices.
