I want to replace the standard rear wheel to a bigger and have read on the forum that gs550 fit bolt on which year should I look for? When i look on ebay, there are from 16 "to 18". 18 "mag wheels seems to be most common. IT Will be a hardtail savage so the swing/wheel space Will not be a problem. Are all gs550 drive chain ?

no, some are shaft drive and you don't want those.
the drive side has 6 pockets for the dampers, must have those to be compatible with the drive hub.
I know an '83 works fine, my list has two ranges, 81-82 and 83-86, for 130/90-16, a HD standard.
if you read thru the 'whale' thread, you'll find some have had various issues which I have not.

Check out my thread "cast wheel conversion" in the tech section. I had a tougher road with my conversion but it did teach me quite a lot.
